Last week, we were joined in Dewsbury and Leeds by twenty of our clients for our annual Accellos Users’ Conference.
The events began on Tuesday afternoon with a visit to the Dewsbury office and warehouse of Premium Timber Products. The company’s IT and Administration Manager, Les Harris, gave an overview presentation to the group, showing how it uses Accellos to manage its two warehouses in providing doors and other timber products for a variety of customers.
Then, Operations & Logistics Manager, Steve Dyer, showed the group around the 160,000 square feet warehouse. Premium Timber supplies its doors and other wood products to a number of DIY retail chains, such as B&Q, as well as delivering directly to end-users.
After a group dinner in the evening – and drinks afterwards in the bar – the group reconvened the next day in The Radisson Blu Hotel in Leeds for the conference sessions.
Balloon One MD Craig Powell welcomed the group, introducing the participating companies. Understandably, not all of Balloon’s 700+ Accellos users could be there, as they were busy managing the systems that process the 23,000+ orders that go through the Balloon-installed warehouse systems every day. But we were pleased that so many companies could come, and that they represented such a diverse range of businesses.
After Craig had updated everyone with the latest Balloon news, Michael Agnew, EMEA sales representative for Highjump Software, the developers of Accellos One WMS gave a presentation to introduce Highjump Software in more detail.
We were also fortunate to be able to have Chris Barnes of Highjump over from the US. Chris ran the group through the latest Accellos software version – 6.5.03 – demonstrating the changes, upgrades and additions that have been made to the new version of the software.
Later on, Balloon’s Ben Coss joined Craig to demonstrate how Accellos can optimise the pick-pack-ship process, and Chris Barnes ran through the supply chain essentials of Accellos.
After lunch, the group split up to form break-out sessions of five or so users, each with a facilitator. Everyone gave feedback on the features they love about Accellos, as well as features that frustrate them. With Accellos in attendance, it was great to be able to give them feedback directly from the users that will help them to continually improve the software.
From Balloon’s point of view, it was a great event, and from the feedback forms received, we were pleased to read that all the delegates seem to have gained something positive from it.
If you were unable to attend, but would like to speak to any of our support staff about the updates, or if you would like to receive copies of the presentations, please get in touch.
